Camel Treks
Camel Trek & Berber Bivouac — 3 Days / 2 Nights
Ride far beyond the camps to a nomad bivouac and live the desert at walking pace.
About this journey
Three days away from every road. You ride out of Merzouga with a cameleer whose family has crossed these dunes for generations, leaving the main camp routes behind to a bivouac of wool tents where dinner is cooked on a wood fire. There is time to learn how bread is baked in the sand, to share tea with a nomad family and to watch the light change over the erg from a high ridge with nobody else in sight.
